Several Kansas Wesleyan football student-athletes have received postseason honors from the KCAC and the NAIA as the Coyotes enjoyed another successful campaign in the 2023 season.

ALL-KCAC
Kansas Wesleyan had 15 football student-athletes earn 16 spots on the All-KCAC teams as selected by the conference coaches. Conference coaches selected the All-KCAC teams by combining both divisions of play. Statistical rankings listed below will be within the Bissell Division only, since only divisional statistics are available not full conference statistics on the Presto Sports statistics website for the NAIA.

Ricardo Garcia and
Josh King-Bradley were named to the first-team,
Nick Allsman and
Ricco Moore were named to the second-team, and
Luke Armstrong,
Jacquante Pitts,
Rhadarious Lomax-Spivey,
Jontrell Casimere,
Quatama Massaquoi,
Shaylan Lewis,
Julian Urioste,
Jordan Dupre,
Talon Cope and
Jacob Backus were selected to the honorable mention team. Armstrong earned honors at both the fullback and punt returner position.

Garcia had 59 tackles on the season which ranked No. 23 in the KCAC's Bissell Division. He led the Bissell Division with seven sacks and also had two interceptions and nine pass break-ups on the season.

King-Bradley had 50 tackles during the season, ranked No. 30 in the Division. He had 15 tackles for loss, that ranked second in the division, and four stacks that ranked fourth in the division. He had three forced fumbles which was tied for tops in the division.

Allsman rushed 141 times for 559 yards on the season, ranking seventh in the division in rushing yards per game at 50.8. He also had seven receptions for 66 yards.

Moore ranked eighth in the division with 89 tackles on the season. He had 1.5 sacks on the season and six tackles for loss.

Armstrong had 16 receptions of out the backfield this season for 279 yards. His 16 receptions ranked 16th in the division. As a punt returner, he averaged 16 yards per return on 11 returns that included an 88-yard touchdown return. He was the lone punt returner in the division to qualify for statistical listing averaging over 1.2 returns per game.

Pitts had 248 yards receiving during the season, ranking 16th in the division, coming on 17 receptions.

Lomax-Spivey had 465 yards receiving, ranking fourth in the division on 27 catches, which ranked eighth in the division.

Adams and Casimere were part of the Kansas Wesleyan offense that ranked third in the division in rushing yards and passing yards per game and ranked fourth in total offense and in scoring average.

Massaquoi had 48 tackles on the season ranking No. 30 in the division, which included seven tackles for loss. He also had three interceptions and six pass break ups.

Lewis ranked No 13 in the division in tackles with 78. He also had three sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss on the season and two pass break ups.

Urioste ranked second in the division with nine pass breakups and 20th in the division with 58 tackles on the season.

Dupre had two interceptions on the season ranking second in the division, and had 29 tackles that ranked No. 56 in the division.

Cope led the division in kick scoring with 60 points, connecting on a division best 10 field goals on 14 tries for 71 percent. He was also perfect on PATs, going 30 for 30 on the season. He ranked third in the division in overall scoring.

Backus ranked ninth in the division in kick returns with 10, averaging 20.8 yards per return on the season.

KWU had seven student-athletes earn KCAC Scholar-Athlete honors. The list includes

The KCAC Scholar-Athlete Academic Award recognizes excellence in the classroom by KCAC member student-athletes who are sophomores or above in academic standing at the beginning of the semester in which they compete, carry a minimum 3.250 cumulative GPA at the beginning of the semester in which they compete and must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at the KCAC institution to be eligible.

DAKTRONICS NAIA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
Six student-athletes were named as Daktronics NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes. The list includes

Talon Cope,
Kaleb Hagans and
Clay Gagnon.

Nationally, the 2023 list features 968 student-athletes, spread across 79 schools, who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

KWU finished 8-3 overall for the season and posted a 4-1 division record, earning a division co-championship. The Coyotes were the lone Bissell Division team to post an over .500 record and the lone divisional team to post an over .500 record against the Kessinger Division.
