Laha Field (Graves Family Sports Complex)
Gene Bissell Field at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex opened in October 2015 and replaced the former Glenn L. Martin Stadium as the home of Kansas Wesleyan Football, Soccer, Flag Football and Track and Field. The facility opened on October 3, 2015 with a Kansas Wesleyan football game against McPherson College won by the Coyotes 48-7. Since, the football program is 45-8 at home since returning from playing six-plus seasons at Salina Stadium. The complex has hosted numerous other community events including high school football and soccer games, high school soccer, the 9/11 Stair Walk, and the annual Salina Guns and Hoses charity football game. KWU has hosted numerous KCAC and NAIA National Championship games at the complex. The complex serves the greatest number of KWU student-athletes and the entire KWU campus community. The complex features Gene Bissell Field, named for legendary Hall of Fame coach and athletic administrator Gene Bissell. The field was initially dedicated Bissell Field in 1994 at the former Martin Stadium, and was rededicated in 2015 in Bissell’s honor. Also featured is the Olson Family Track, which played host to the 2019 KCAC Track and Field Championships; the Laha Practice Field, a full-sized fully-turfed and lighted practice area, and the Bradley Tennis Courts, which are used by KWU for practices, and developmental team matches and by Sacred Heart High School for its matches.
