LINDSBORG – Kamille Kum recorded a hat trick for the Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer team as the Coyotes cruised to a dominating 4-1 win over the Bethany Swedes on Wednesday afternoon.
The match was moved up to an earlier kickoff to avoid any potential weather that could have caused a delay for the match that ultimately never materialized.
Wesleyan outshot the Swedes 28-5 in the match led by six shots by Kum, while
Cayden Andersen had four.
Kum netted his first goal of the match in the 13th minute off an assist by Sebastian Fernandez. The second goal came in the 36th minute assisted by
Andres Ruiz.
The Coyotes carried the 2-0 lead into the half.
Kum completed the hat trick in the 54th minute on a goal assisted by
Jesus Moreno.
Bethany scored its goal in the 67th minute to make it 3-1.
After a foul in the box by Bethany in the 80th minute,
Mika Wernicke converted the penalty kick goal for the Coyotes to make it 4-1.
Wesleyan had more chances to add goals including
Tristan Bayssade hitting the post in the 86th minute, but the Coyotes could not tack on any more scores.
The Coyotes currently sit in third place in the KCAC standings heading into Saturday's regular season finale against Southwestern, scheduled for a 5 p.m. kick from JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
