Men’s Soccer holds for 1-0 win over Evangel

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Jesus Moreno's 11th minute penalty conversion was the difference as the Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer team remained unbeaten in KCAC play with a 1-0 win over the Evangel Valor on Saturday at Coryell Field.
 
Moreno's penalty came after a KWU corner in which the Coyotes were rewarded the try from the spot.
 
Wesleyan's defense came up big after that keeping Evangel from scoring as Santiago Pagnutti recorded another clean sheet for the Coyotes with four saves.
 
KWU outshot Evangel 21-13 in the match as Moreno led the way with eight shots, four on frame.
 
Wesleyan returns to action on Wednesday, heading to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. KWU returns home on September 27, hosting Tabor.
