SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer dropped a 3-1 decision to the Evangel Valor on Saturday at Coryell Field.
Evangel carried a 1-0 lead into the halftime break after McKenzie Calhoun scored the first of her two goals on the afternoon in the 39th minute.
The Coyotes got the equalizer in the 60th minute from
Yissel Navarro, but less than a minute later, Evangel regained the lead on Calhoun's second tally of the match.
The Valor extended its lead in the 87th minute with a goal by Alece Hershey.
KWU led the way in shots with 21 compared to 11 for Evangel.
Grace Conner led the Coyotes with four shots.
Isabella Galvan had four saves for the Coyotes in goal.
Wesleyan returns to action on Wednesday, heading to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs at 5 p.m. KWU returns home on September 27, hosting Tabor.
