Kansas Wesleyan plays two more Kansas Conference games this week starting with a midweek trip to southwest Missouri then at home this weekend against McPherson.

THE SERIESÂ
- The Coyotes are 3-0 against Evangel after defeating the Valor 78-66 in overtime November 18 inside Mabee Arena. They defeated Evangel 78-62 on November 2021 and won 69-59 on November 2011.
- KWU is 34-6 against the Bulldogs since February, 2006. The Coyotes won the first game this season 59-47 November 29 in McPherson and have been victorious in the last five games against the Bulldogs.
KANSAS WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
- The Coyotes split two games last week defeating Bethel 63-60 Wednesday in North Newton and losing to Friends 70-43 Saturday in Wichita. They led Bethel 37-25 early in the third quarter and hung on for the victory. Jill Stephens was the top scorer with 13 points while Kourtney Kaufman and Brooke Strine had 11 each. Friends took control by scoring the last 11 points of the first quarter and led 31-19 at halftime. Stephens had 12 points to lead the offense.
- KWU scored 10 of the first 11 points in overtime and outscored Evangel 15-3 in overtime in the first game this season. LaMyah Ricks had 26 points, Stephens 14, and Angel Lee 13. The Coyotes limited McPherson to 23 second half points in the contest. Stephens scored 12 and Ricks 10.
- Stephens averages a team-best 12.0 points and Ricks 10.7. The Coyotes average 68 points and are shooting 37 percent overall, 30 percent from beyond the arc. They are also averaging 18 turnovers.
EVANGEL AT A GLANCE
- Evangel and KWU are tied for fifth in the KCAC standings, a 1½ games behind Bethany (9-4).
- The Valor have lost their last two games – Friends 79-69 last Wednesday in Springfield and Tabor 68-67 Saturday in Hillsboro. Evangel had won four of five before the setbacks.
- Freshman center Kamie Jenkins leads the team in scoring (13.1) and rebounding (10.8). Junior forward Micah Clayton averages 10.2 points and sophomore guard Carson Dillard 9.9. The Valor outrebound their opponents by nearly nine per game.
McPHERSON AT A GLANCE
- The Bulldogs lost at home to York 85-69 Monday night and had lost 11 of 13 going into their game against Friends on Wednesday in McPherson. They defeated Bethel 82-77 January 27 in North Newton.
- McPherson averages 62 points, allows 69 and is shooting 36 percent overall but just 26 percent from 3-point range. The Bulldogs average 21 turnovers and are allowing 69 points per game.
- McPherson shot 29.8 percent in the first game against KWU and was led by Chloe Clevenger's 12 points. Matisyn Moses and Madelyn Hankins each average 10.3 points and Gillian Rogers 10.1 points. Moses is the leading rebounder at 5.5.
