BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer saw its eight-match winning streak get snapped on Saturday as the Coyotes fell to No. 9 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University at the OKWU Soccer Pitch.
It was the first loss for the Coyotes in Kansas Conference play this season as the top two teams in the conference faced off.
Both teams traded shots in the first five minutes of the match, but a majority of the first half was played between the 18s (yard box), as neither team managed a shot between the ninth and 27
th minute of the half.
The Eagles got their first goal of the match in the 33
rd minute when Taylor Witthauer scored off an assist by Tania Mocholi.
The Coyotes didn't get a shot off until the last 10 minutes of the second half when
Maleia Jackson had a shot, and
Precious Nwosu had a shot that was saved.
OKWU got its second goal of the night in the 85
th minute by Mocholi.
KWU had one final chance in the final minute for a goal but
Carstyn Anderson's shot was saved.
OKWU outshot the Coyotes 13-4 in the match.
Isabella Galvan had four saves for the Coyotes.
KWU returns to action on Wednesday at Bethel.
