FREMONT, Neb. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Tennis suffered its first dual loss of the season 6-1 to Midland University on Saturday.
Wesleyan's lone point of the match came at No. 4 singles as
Adam Hanson got an injury retirement.
Midland won all three doubles matches. Joren Stevens and Benjamin Starman beat
Bryce Ware and
Alex Sherer 7-6 (9-7 tiebreak); Vitor Goncalves and Athur Hernandes beat
Raul Davalos-Gavino and
Adam Hanson 6-4; and Nathan Bitzer and Ryosei Masuda beat Paulo Cattani-Martini and
Luke Craft 6-3.
In singles Ware lost in three sets to Starman 6-4, 4-6, 4-6; Stevens beat Sherer 6-0, 6-3; Goncalves beat Davalos-Gavino 6-32, 6-4; Bitzer beat Craft 4-6, 6-7, 2-6; and Masuda beat Jacon Phelps 6-3, 6-3.
Wesleyan is action on Thursday against Newman University in Wichita, in a match that was added to the schedule earlier this week. Start time is set for 2 p.m.
