LEAVENWORTH – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Outdoor Track and Field opened the 2024 schedule on Friday and Saturday in the Saint Mary Distance Carnival and Team Challenge at Berkel Memorial Stadium.
Friday night was the Distance Carnival featuring the 800m, 1500m, Steeplechase, 5000m, and 4x800m relay. On Saturday, the rest of the team joined the festivities with the field events and shorter distance races and sprints.
Simeon Faagai won the hammer throw with a mark of 43.38 and
Cody Flax was fourth with a mark of 37.62m.
Dylan Worrell won the shot put with a mark of 14.29m,
Keegan Lott was second with a mark of 13.86m, Keyon Baccus was fourth with a mark of 12.86m and
Cody Flax was ninth with a mark of 10.76m.
KWU had 19 entries in the 1500m run led by
Carter Huyser finishing second and hitting the NAIA A-Standard for the race, finishing with a time of 3:52.48.

Wyatt Johnson was ninth in 4:03.83,
Ty Davidson was 10th in 4:04.08,
Damion Jackson was 11th in 4:05.34,
Triston Cottone was 19th in 4:09.92,

Keegan Lott placed second in the discus with a mark of 43.52m,

In the 200m,
Zamari Burrell finished fifth with a time of 22.34 seconds, DeJaylon Beal was 20th in 23.51 and
Riley Garcia was 22nd in 23.68.
In the 400m,
Riley Garcia was seventh in 53.60 seconds,
Zamari Burrell was ninth in 53.99 seconds and DeJaylon Beal was 11th in 54.13.
Wesleyan is back on the track next weekend at the Bethel Invitational in North Newton.
