Kansas Wesleyan Men's Track and Field continued its season on Friday and Saturday at the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State University at Cessna Stadium.
The Coyotes had another ticket punched for the NAIA National Championships as
Keegan Lott qualified in the discus with a mark of 48.48m, which was good for a sixth place finish in the event.
Carter Huyser again posted a NAIA qualifying time in the 800m with a 1:52.66, finishing fourth in the Friday 800m session.
Keegan Lott placed third in the shot put with a mark of 14.63m,
Dylan Worrell was fifth with a mark of 14.20m and Keyon Baccus was 21st with a mark of 11.94m.
Brenden Ellis was sixth in the Steeplechase with a time of 9:37.48,
Ian Doss was 12th in 9:59.83, and
Shane Calvin was 22nd in 11:00.83.
In the 1500m,
Julian Avila posted a seventh place finish with a time of 3:56.50,
Wyatt Johnson was 22nd with a 4:01.28,
Tytus Reed was 33rd in 4:09.10,
Nicolas Martinez was 44th in 4:16.81, Zachary Tibbitts was 49th in 4:19.57,
Roman Mai was 50th in 4:19.63 and
Brodie Bradshaw was 57th in 4:26.99.
Keegan Lott placed 11th in the javelin with a mark of 52.12m.
In the Friday 800m section
Ty Davidson finished 12th with a time of 1:56.77 and
Triston Cottone finished 17th with a time of 1:57.55. In Saturday's session,
Nicolas Martinez posted an eighth placed finish with a time of 1:59.19.
In the 5000m
Damion Jackson placed 13th in 15:17.80,
Jake Cruz was 28th in 15:50.68 and
Giovanni Rios was 32nd in 15:57.36.
Zamari Burrell finished 14th in the 100m with a time of 10.51 seconds,
Tyler Fontenot finished 39th with a time of 10.82, DeJaylon Beal was 48th in 11.05, Rhadarious Lomax-Spivey was 59th in 11.20, James Preston was 76th in 11.71 and
Jaq'Son Birdwhistle-Bush finished 81st in 12.08.
The 4x100m relay team of
Tyler Fontenot,
Zamari Burrell, DeJaylon Beal and Rhadarious Lomax-Spivey placed 15th in 43.14 seconds.
Simeon Faagai added a 15th place finish in the discus with a mark of 41.77m, and added a 15th place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.85m.
Wyatt Johnson finished 17th in the 400m with a time of 50.16 seconds and
Riley Garcia finished 59th with a time of 53.71.
Cisco Alvarez placed 17th in the 10000m with a time of 32:37.80.
In the 200m,
Zamari Burrell finished 25th with a time of 22.08 seconds,
Tyler Fontenot was 31st with a time of 22.27, Rhadarious Lomax-Spivey was 63rd in 23.08, DeJaylon Beal was 64th in 23.10,
Riley Garcia was 79th in 23.45, James Preston was 90th in 23.94 and
Jaq'Son Birdwhistle-Bush was 98th in 25.24.
The Coyotes are back in action this weekend, hosting the Coyote Distance Carnival on Friday evening starting at 6 p.m. at the Olson Family Track at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex. A select group will also attend the 101st Kansas Relays in Lawrence, and the team will also head to the Tabor Invitational on Saturday in Hillsboro.
