LEAVENWORTH – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis dropped a 4-3 match to the Saint Mary Spires on Saturday.
Wesleyan dropped the doubles point in the match as Saint Mary took two of the three flights. KWU got a win as
Eliza Camp and
Danielle Slack beat Arsys Rojas and Taimane Cajudoy 6-3. USM got the wins in the other two match-ups as Tracy Llamas and Cortlyne Wolfe beat
McKinnley Evans and
Kristi Henderson 6-2; and Shannon Finn and Mia Rojas beat
Alivia Sherer and
Camrynn Bagwell 6-0.
In singles, both teams won three matches. KWU had five of six players playing up a flight after
McKinnley Evans was unable to play singles due to an injury.
KWU got singles wins as Henderson beat Finn 6-3, 7-5; Camp beat Cajudoy 6-2, 6-0; and Bagwell beat Rachel Rothmeyer 7-6, 6-3.
Saint Mary got wins as Llamas beat Crowe 6-0, 6-0; Wolfe beat Sherer 6-2, 6-2; and Mia Rojas beat Slack 6-3, 6-0.
The Coyotes are scheduled to play Southwestern on Monday at 3 p.m. in Salina.
