Kansas Wesleyan Men's Tennis faced a stiff test in Friday's Kansas Conference semifinal against the No. 1 seeded McPherson Bulldogs inside Genesis Health Club.
The Coyotes would battle to the end, but fell in a 4-1 decision to McPherson.
The matches were again played inside due to inclement weather outside, mainly the very gusty winds in the Salina area.
McPherson captured the doubles point winning at No. 2 as Daniel Marcano and Oscar Brouwer beat
Alex Sherer and
Raul Davalos-Gavino 6-1; and at No. 3 as Celien Botlan and Arthur Nardy beat
Adam Hanson and
Luke Craft 6-4.
Bryce Ware and
Jacob Phelps were trailing Michael Beltran and Martin Millos 6-5 when doubles were called.
The Coyotes picked up their lone point of the match as Ware knocked off Beltran 7-5, 6-3.
Sherer lost to Marcus Nardy 6-1, 6-1; Davalos-Gavino lost to Arthur Nardy 5-7, 6-2, 6-2; and
Adam Hanson lost to Millos 6-0, 6-2.
