The Kansas Wesleyan Men's Volleyball team continued Heart of America conference play Wednesday night as they hosted the Missouri Baptist University Spartans. The Coyotes would fall to the Spartans as they dropped the match in three sets 2518, 25-17, 25-20.
The first set saw the Spartans out scoring the Coyotes in kills 16-7. Attack errors were minimal from both teams but the Spartans relied on heavy hitters to extend leads and go runs of two or three every time the Coyotes would get one back. MBU wins the first set 25-18 to take the 1-0 lead.
Set two the Coyotes stayed on the heels of the Spartans through first half of set two. KWU had a handful of impressive kills by
Ryan Wagner and
Jaron Lindsay. MBU would build their lead and take the second set 25-17 and leading the match 2-0.
The third set saw more of the same with MSU being able to build a lead and keep it just out reach for KWU. The Spartans would go on to win set three 25-20 and secure the match 3-0.
KWU fell to 7-9 overall on the season and 3-6 in conference play.
Kansas Wesleyan will continue in University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy of St. Louis. The Coyotes will face the Eutectics in Salina at Mabee Arena on Saturday, March 15th at 1:00PM.
