Kansas Wesleyan Men's Tennis dropped a 5-2 decision on Saturday morning to Northwestern College at Salina Tennis Alliance Center.
Northwestern would win the doubles point taking two of the three flights. Jorge Menendez and David Bomgaars beat
Adam Hanson and
Luke Craft 6-2, and Mateo Flores and Jose Calderon beat
Raul Davalos-Gavino and
Jack Hanson 6-1. The Coyotes did get one flight win as
Felix Rodriguez and
Benjamin Cechak beat Collin Harmelink and Arthur Vicente 6-1.
In singles, the Coyotes got wins by Davalos-Gavino at No. 1 against Menendez 6-2, 6-4; and by
Collin Phelps at No. 5 over Vicente 4-6, 6-1, 10-5. Northwestern would get wins in the other flights as
Adam Hanson lost to Calderon 6-1, 4-6, 7-10; Craft lost to Bomgaars 6-2, 6-4;
William McMurry lost to Flores 6-2, 7-5; and Cechak would lost to Harmelink 6-3, 7-6.
Next up for the Coyotes is the Steve Foster Memorial Invitational hosted by Texas Wesleyan next weekend in Dallas, Texas.
