THE SERIES
- KWU defeated Behany 80-67 in the first game this season in January in Lindsborg and has won four of the last five and six of eight. The Coyotes have a 24-20 lead in the series since 2006.
- Ottawa defeated KWU 92-86 in overtime on Nov. 15 in Mabee Arena and has won the last three games. The Coyotes had won six in a row prior to the skid. Ottawa has a 27-19 advantage since 2006.
KANSAS WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
- KWU enters the week tied with Avila for eighth place in the KCAC – the top eight teams in the final standings qualify for the conference tournament. If there is a tie Avila has the tiebreaker after defeating the Coyotes last month. The Eagles play York (2-18 KCAC) and Tabor (4-16), both on the road in their two games this week. The KCAC tournament begins Feb. 26.
- Wesleyan stayed in the hunt with a 94-90 upset of Southwestern on Saturday in Winfield. Brandon Avedon scored a career-best 27 points and Stefan Spray had a career-high 21. Caiden added 15 points and Braylin Goins 11 and seven assists.
- Avedon had 19 points and five assists, and the Coyotes shot 54 percent in the game at Bethany. Evens Appolon added 13 points and five rebounds. Avedon had 22 points and 10 rebounds in the first game against Ottawa in Mabee Arena. Gabe Phillips and Wyatt Powell each had 17 points but KWU was just 2 of 19 from 3-point range.

- The Swedes have lost their last nine games including a 74-52 setback against Evangel on Saturday in Springfield, Mo. The opposition has averaged 90 points in those nine games. Bethany is 5-9 on the road this season.
- The Swedes average 75 points and allow 85. They're shooting 42 percent overall, 31 percent from long range and are getting outrebounded by eight per game.

- The Braves have lost their last six games and nine of 10 entering their contest at Saint Mary on Wednesday. They lost to Oklahoma Wesleyan 80-49 last Wednesday in Ottawa and Bethel 87-60 Saturday in North Newton.
- Three Braves have four double-figure scoring averages in Landyn Tyler 13.0, Micah Willis 12.6, Rich Martelly 11.6 and Jackson Harding 11.2. Harding is the top rebounder at 5.9. Willis scored 28 and Harding 24 in the first game against KWU.
- Ottawa averages 77 points, allows 81 and shoots 45 percent while opponents shoot 47 percent. The Braves also average 15 turnovers.
