LINDSBORG – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis saw its season come to a close on Wednesday as the Coyotes fell 4-2 to the Bethany Swedes in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Tournament at the Lindquist Tennis Center.
KWU started things out strongly, winning the doubles point as
Hayden Bellamy and
Rylee Frye beat Kyla Metro and Karee Adam 6-3; and
Adalyn Pfizenmaier and
Hailey Adami beat Elisa Richardson and Elena Jundt 6-1. KWU was leading 4-3 in the other doubles match when the point was clinched.
Bethany would win four of the singles matches to claim the match victory.
KWU got one singles win as Salas beat Makenna Russom 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
Bethany got wins as Ana Sofia Castillo Paz beat Bellamy 6-3, 6-2; Metro beat Frye 7-6, 6-7, 6-0; Helen Harbit beat Sherer 6-4, 6-4; and Adam beat
Isabella Myers 6-2, 6-3.
One match was unfinished as the match was clinched. Adami and Richardson were tied 2-2 in the third set when the match was called.
The loss sees KWU's season come to a close with a 12-8 overall record. KWU finished with a 9-3 record in conference play.
