OLATHE, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer played its first road match of the season on Saturday as the Coyotes headed to Pioneer Field to take on No. 15 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene.
The Pioneers would get a goal in the 53rd minute by Mo Carnahan as the deciding tally in the 1-0 decision.
The teams played a scoreless first half despite MNU having an advantage in shots over the Coyotes.
MNU had a barrage of shots to start the second half, but it was Carnahan's that found the net.
The Coyotes had a chance at scoring with shots by
Marlee Walsh and
Minaya Winchester in the 67th minute but could not find the net.
MNU outshot KWU 20-6 in the match, but the on-target shots were 7-3 in favor of MNU.
Lexi Jack had two of KWU's shots to lead the team. Goalkeeper
Bianka Waxman had six saves in goal.
The Coyotes will play their home opener on Wednesday, hosting Hastings College at 5 p.m. at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
