Ivi Marcolino named KCAC Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week

Kansas Wesleyan's Ivi Marcolino was selected as the KCAC Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week announced by the KCAC conference office. Student-athletes are selected for their performances from Aug. 24-30 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Marcolino had a stellar week for the Coyotes, averaging 4.86 kills per set while hitting .287 on the week in two matches helping KWU to a 1-1 record.

Against Stephens in a 3-0 win, she had eight kills, averaging 2.67 per set, and also added 2.33 digs per set and had one service ace.

Against Oklahoma City University in a 3-1 loss, she had 26 kills, averaging 6.50 per set while hitting .317 in the match. She also had one block and averaged 1.5 digs per set.

Her play against OCU was a huge factor in the Coyotes taking two sets to extra points against the undefeated Stars, who have wins over Oklahoma Wesleyan, Evangel and Texas A&M-Texarkana on the season.

The Coyotes play this weekend in the Park / Baker Labor Day Classic. KWU takes on Baker on Friday at 6 p.m. in Baldwin City, then plays against Central Baptist at 1 p.m. and Park at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Parkville, Mo.
