Criteria for Nomination to Hall of Fame

Nominee must meet a majority of the criteria below in order to be considered for induction to the KWU Hall of Fame.
 
Coach

  • Received public awards/recognition for coaching while at KWU or other institutions
  • Coaches are generally eligible for nomination 10 years after leaving KWU, however, the Committee reserves the right to make exceptions to this on a case-by-case basis
  • Made significant impact on KWU sport program
  • Went on to have considerable success after leaving KWU
  • Generally recognized as a person of exemplary character
 
Athlete/Team
  • An athlete/team is eligible for nomination 10 years after completion of collegiate eligibility, individuals must have competed at KWU
  • Individual Athletes are required to have graduated from KWU, however in certain circumstances this can be waived (i.e., exhausted eligibility at KWU, but had to transfer to complete degree) on a case-by-case basis
  • Received public awards/recognition for athletic performance at KWU
  • Must be a major contributor to the success of the teams on which he/she played
  • Went on to have considerable success after leaving KWU
  • Generally recognized as a person of exemplary character
 
Meritorious Service
  • The nominee must have demonstrated meritorious service to KWU over a significant number of years
  • Service provided to KWU was not for compensation of any kind, is not a debt to the university, and is something that will not and/or cannot be compensated, reimbursed or otherwise repaid over time
  • Nominees do not have to be away from KWU for 10 years to be nominated under this category.
  • Represented KWU in a public and influential manner to the community, state and/or country
  • Generally recognized as a person of exemplary character
