Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame - Committee Information

Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame Committee – Composition and Responsibilities

The Committee will meet four times per year to determine upcoming Hall of Fame inductees. Those meetings should be scheduled as close as possible to a general schedule of February (voting on future classes), May (initial consideration for upcoming classes and review new nominations), August (final pre-ceremony information) and October (post-ceremony review). The Committee’s goal is to stay two years ahead of the current induction year in the selection process, however it is understood that the 2-year ahead window may not always be able to be followed.

Guidelines for Selection of a Yearly Class
The Committee will select the inductees for future Hall of Fame classes based on a majority vote of the members present at the voting meeting (usually the February meeting).

The Hall of Fame Class should not exceed more than five individuals and two teams in a single year. An exception to this would be consecutive years of team induction, for example, the 1992, 1993, 1994 softball teams. A typical Hall of Fame Class should have three to five individuals and one to two teams. A team does not have to be inducted every year.

The Committee will consider all active nominations for selection.

The Committee will consist of the listed below members from Kansas Wesleyan Athletics and University Advancement. The Committee will also have local community members involved that are active supporters of KWU Athletics and are able to discuss the nominees and consider them for induction.

KWU staff is responsible for seeking new members for the Hall of Fame Committee as needed. New community members to the Hall of Fame Committee will be seated on the committee for a term of up to 10 years. Should a Committee Member choose to leave the Committee before their term is complete, they must notify KWU staff of their decision. All current members of the Committee are invited to stay on the committee as long as they feel they are able to make contributions to the Hall of Fame Committee and selection process. Other members of the Committee are able to suggest individuals to become a member of the Committee, but membership must be approved by KWU Staff.
