Tyler Huffstickler

Tyler Huffstickler has been an assistant coach for the Kansas Wesleyan Baseball team since June 2022.

 A native of Tyler, Texas, Coach Huff joins the Coyotes coaching staff from the University of Central Missouri. While at UCM he coached the outfielders and helped lead the Mules to a 46-9 record, while winning the MIAA conference outright as well as the MIAA conference tournament.

Huff graduated with his Master’s Degree from Missouri Baptist University in 2021, while serving as pitching coach during the 2020 shortened COVID season and 2021 season. During his first full season coaching at MBU he helped lead the team to a runner-up finish in both the AMC regular season and conference tournament. The pitching staff at MBU finished with the regular season leading the conference in every statistical category and a strikeout to walk ratio of 3:1. He had two players receive NAIA National Player/Pitcher of the Week.

From 2016-2019, Huffstickler coached at Northern Oklahoma College - Tonkawa where he helped lead the Mavericks to back to back 40 win seasons and a reaching a school high ranking of No. 2 in the national baseball polls. During his time at NOC he had 20 players go to the NCAA Division I ranks and one drafted in the MLB draft, as well as nine NJCAA Academic All Americans and one NJCAA All American player.

Huff’s playing career included stops at Pratt Community College, Arkansas Tech University, and Kansas Wesleyan University. He graduated from KWU in the spring of 2016 with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Tyler is joined by his wife Sam and their two dogs, Jax and Hazel, and are expecting
their first child, Parker, July 2022.
