Christina Swagerty has been the Cheer and Dance coach at Kansas Wesleyan since April 2020.

 

In addition to coaching the cheer and dance teams, Swagerty will be have a shared role with the KWU Department of Music, serving as administrative assistant, working with members of the music department staff in conjunction with the Athletic Department.

 

Swagerty comes from Minneapolis High School, where she was a paraeducator and head cheerleading coach. Her involvement with the sport of cheerleading began at an early age, which has included choreography, stunting, dance and competition-level cheerleading. During her tenure at MHS, she led the cheer team from a small spirit team to a competitive cheerleading squad.

 

She is a graduate of California Lutheran University with a BA in Liberal Studies, where she also minored in Art Education. Her background also includes childhood development with an emphasis in sign language and arts.
