Kendall Smith

Kendall Smith has been the Head Cheer Coach since August 2024. 

2024-25 was Smith's first season at KWU where he led the Competitive Cheer team to a seventh place finish at the KCAC Championships. Oriana Botz was named to the honorable mention All-KCAC team. KWU had a season-best third place finish at the Coyote Classic to start the season and was fourth at the William Penn Invitational. KWU had three Academic All-KCAC and three Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes. 

Smith came to Kansas Wesleyan after spending two years at Graceland University where he was twice selected as the Heart of America Conference Co-Cheer Coach of the Year. 

Smith is a 2021 Missouri Valley College graduate, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. While at Missouri Valley, he was a part of Alpha Sigma Phi and on the Missouri Valley Cheer team for four and a half years.

While an Alpha Sigma Phi member, he spent time as the Treasurer and the Fundraising Director. As a member of the Cheer team, he won four straight Conference titles, three straight Regional titles, and a National title in 2018

In 2016, Smith joined the National Cheerleaders Association as an Instructor in the Central region. In 2022 he was promoted to Head Instructor.
