Brian Vancuren has been the men's tennis head coach since July 2023.

In 2024-25, the KWU men's tennis team finished 8-12 overall and 6-6 in the KCAC. KWU faced Bethel in the first round of the KCAC tournament dropping a tightly contested match against the Threshers. Raul Davalos-Gavino was named Second Team All-KCAC and Luke Craft was named as the winner of the Sportsmanship Award. Davalos-Gavino was also named as the ITA Central Region Senior Player of the Year, and the team was selected as the ITA Central Region Co-Community Service Award Winner along with Concordia University. The team had another solid year in academics, with eight Academic All-KCAC honorees and seven Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes. 


In 2023-24, Vancuren led the men's tennis team for the first time, as the Coyotes finished 13-8 overall and 7-4 in the KCAC. KWU played Sterling in the first round of the KCAC tournament and knocked off the Warriors before facing eventual tournament champion McPherson in the semifinal round. Bryce Ware was named the KCAC Player of the Year for a second consecutive season and was a first-team All-KCAC selection as well. Ware was also selected by conference coaches as the KCAC Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Alex Sherer was named to the second-team. Ware continued on to receive First Team College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors and Sherer earned Second Team Academic All-America honors. The team also had seven Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 10 Academic All-KCAC honorees. 

In 2022-23 Vancuren served as the head women's tennis coach before taking over the lead role for the men's team starting in the 2023-24 season. 

He has been at Kansas Wesleyan since the start of the 2021-22 season. In his first year at Wesleyan, Vancuren served as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs, then took the lead role for the women’s team beginning with the 2022-23 season.

Before arriving at Kansas Wesleyan, Vancuren served as the head tennis coach at Maize South High School for three years. During his time at Maize South, he was named coach of the year two times in 2019 and in 2021 on the boy’s side and also led the team to their first league title and two state Runner-Ups.

Vancuren, a native of Conway Springs, Kansas, played collegiately at Southwestern College where he double majored in Accounting and Business Administration and was a three-time All-KCAC Scholar-Athlete and a two-time team captain. Vancuren stepped away from playing his senior year and became a student coach and helped Southwestern's women's tennis team win its first ever KCAC Championship.

Vancuren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration at Southwestern College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education at Fort Hays State University.
