Harper Taylor

Harper Taylor was named the head women's basketball coach at Kansas Wesleyan in May 2025. 

It is her second stint at KWU having served the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons as an assistant coach helping the Coyotes to 41 wins in those two seasons. 

She spent the last two seasons at Metro State University Denver as an assistant coach before returning to KWU.

Prior to her first stint at KWU, she was a graduate assistant at the University of Texas at El Paso where she received her master’s degree in sports leadership while working for the women’s basketball team.

The Greeley, Colo. native arrived at UTEP after playing three years in the Great Plains Athletic Conference at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.

In her senior year during the 2018-2019 season, she played in 33 games and was an all-around player contributing to her team that made a run to the Sweet 16 in the NAIA Division II National Tournament. She also helped her team in her junior season earn an Elite 8 bid in the National Tournament.

Taylor earned her bachelor's degree in 2019, graduating with a double major in business administration and human resource management, with a minor in art.

She was also was part of the "So You Want To Be a Coach" program which is hosted by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. This convention specifically helps develop and guide young female athletes into the coaching world through education, skill enhancement, networking and exposure opportunities. She is thankful to the WBCA program for helping her pursue her coaching career and preparing her for her assistant coach position at KWU.
