In June 2022, Kyle Hiser was named as the Kansas Wesleyan Cross Country and Track and Field Program Director, and Head Track and Field Coach. Hiser previously served as the cross country and track and field coach at Kansas Wesleyan since July 2019.

In 2025, KWU finished fifth at the KCAC Championships, scoring the most points in school history with 70 at the event. KWU had two relay teams qualify for the NAIA National Championships, with the distance medley relay team finishing 17th and the 4x800m relay group finishing ninth, just missing a spot in the finals. Madisyn Ehrlich also ran in the 1000m with a 19th place finish.

The 2024 Coyotes finished seventh in the KCAC in the Indoor Championships, but enjoyed plenty of successes as Madisyn Ehrlich won the 1000m and the distance medley relay also captured a gold medal at the championships. Ehrlich qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the 1000m and as part of the distance medley relay and competed at the National Championships in both events. She also qualified in the 5000m, as did Josie Koppes, but both elected to focus on other events. Ehrlich was named as an All-American with a seventh place finish in the 1000m and the distance medley relay also earmed All-America status with a seventh place finish. KWU had six Academic All-KCAC picks and five Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The 2023 indoor season saw the Coyotes post a sixth place finish at the KCAC Championships. A pair of relays (4x800 and DMR) earned All-KCAC honors, and nine others had honorable-mention All-KCAC performances. Several school records were set during the season. The women's indoor track team had five KCAC Scholar-Athletes.

The 2022 Indoor Track season for the Coyotes saw Tabetha Deines win the KCAC in the 800 for a second time in her career as well as post fourth place finishes in the mile and was part of the fourth place finishing 4x400m relay team. The team finished sixth, their second highest finish ever in the championship event. Deines and Stephanie Martinez qualified for the NAIA National Championships, with Deines becoming a three-time Indoor All-American with an eighth place finish in the 1000m.

2019-20 was Hiser's first season leading the Coyotes on the indoor oval. He led the Coyotes to an eighth place finish at the KCAC Championships. Tabetha Deines was the KCAC Champion in the 800m, and qualified for the NAIA National Championships along the way. KWU also had All-KCAC performances by Stephanie Martinez (5000m), and the Distance Medley Relay team of Martinez, Jessyka Barten, Bailie Troll and Deines. KWU had five Academic All-KCAC selections and four Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Bailie Troll was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.

Hiser arrived at Kansas Wesleyan after spending two years as an assistant at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. While at Grand View, Hiser received extensive coaching experience, handling recruiting, and was tasked with helping build a positive culture within the programs for the Vikings.

While at Grand View he helped coach six NAIA All-Americans, and helped lead Grand View to a ninth place finish in the NAIA National Championships, the highest ever finish for the Vikings at the meet. Grand View set 13 new school records and won two Heart of America conference championships. Five teams he helped coach were named as NAIA Scholar-Teams and the program had 10 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes under his direction.

Before taking the graduate assistant position at Grand View, Hiser competed for four years at Morningside College where he was a member of their cross country and track and field programs. As an athlete, Hiser was a four-time NAIA All-American as part of the Mustangs 4x800m relay team and was a 16-time All-GPAC selection in track & field. He was also a three-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

He graduated from Morningside in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and from Grand View with a Master of Science degree in sport management in 2019.
