Kansas Wesleyan University

In June 2022, Kyle Hiser was named as the Kansas Wesleyan Cross Country and Track and Field Program Director, and Head Track and Field Coach. Hiser previously served as the cross country and track and field coach at Kansas Wesleyan since July 2019.  

In 2026, the Coyotes finished fourth in the KCAC Championships led by the KCAC Champion 4x800m relay team of Shelby Lingle, HAiley Nordhus, Delaney Bond and Kirstin Hackney. The Coyotes also had several other All-KCAC performances. Several school records were established or broken during the season. The Coyotes had several NAIA national qualifiers, headlined by Madelyn Wolf earning a second straight NAIA All-America honor in the javelin, finishing sixth despite battling elbow injuries during the season. The 4x800m relay team also competed at Nationals as did Paige Smith in the high jump. The women's track teams had 15 Academic All-KCAC honorees and 13 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes. 

In 2025, the Coyotes finished fifth in the KCAC Championships hosted by KWU. Madelyn Wolf was the KCAC Champion in the javelin and continued her winning ways becoming Kansas Wesleyan's first ever individual NAIA National Champion winning the javelin as a true freshman. 


In 2024, Hiser led the Coyotes to a seventh place finish at the KCAC Ourdoor Championships led by a third place finish by the 4x800m relay team. Madisyn Ehrlich was a NAIA qualifier in the 1500m for the Coyotes, and continued on to be named as the Mary Virginia Bevan Female Student-Athlete of the Year. KWU had six Academic All-KCAC picks and five Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Hiser arrived at Kansas Wesleyan after spending two years as an assistant at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. While at Grand View, Hiser received extensive coaching experience, handling recruiting, and was tasked with helping build a positive culture within the programs for the Vikings.

While at Grand View he helped coach six NAIA All-Americans, and helped lead Grand View to a ninth place finish in the NAIA National Championships, the highest ever finish for the Vikings at the meet. Grand View set 13 new school records and won two Heart of America conference championships. Five teams he helped coach were named as NAIA Scholar-Teams and the program had 10 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes under his direction.

Before taking the graduate assistant position at Grand View, Hiser competed for four years at Morningside College where he was a member of their cross country and track and field programs. As an athlete, Hiser was a four-time NAIA All-American as part of the Mustangs 4x800m relay team and was a 16-time All-GPAC selection in track & field. He was also a three-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

He graduated from Morningside in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and from Grand View with a Master of Science degree in sport management in 2019.
