Kansas Wesleyan Men's Bowling opened its 2024-25 season on Wednesday, hosting the Coyote Classic at The Alley in downtown Salina.
The Coyotes finished second in the team standings out of eight teams at the event. KWU, Barton County CC, Baker University and the University of Kansas Club team all participated in the event, with multiple team entries from several of the participating teams.
Teams bowled three individual games before a 12-game baker set.
Individually,
Landon Bauer finished first for the Coyotes Developmental 1 team leading the field with a pin total of 638.
Connor Thomas from the KWU varsity was second and
John Cador from the Developmental 1 team was fifth as KWU put three total bowlers in the top five.
For the rest of the KWU varsity,
Conner Kirby was sixth with 612 pins,
Jackson Penny was 12th with 558,
Landon Jones was 13th with 545, and
Andrew Froetschner tied for 19th with 512.
Others for the KWU Developmental 1 team were
Max Howerton in 11th with 568,
William McNeil tied for 14th with 543 and
Jordan Trammell was 26th with 446.
The KWU Developmental 2 team had four finishers led by
Tyler Fink tying for 19th with 512,
Taurean Washington in 24th with 480,
Jesse Owens in 25th with 464 and Kevin Eghabli in 27th with 428.
Baker won the event with a pin total of 5198 after the 12 baker games. KWU was second with 5080, KWU Developmental 1 was third with 4834 and Barton CC Varsity was fourth with 4785.
The Coyotes are off until October 19 and 20 at the Mid-States Classic in Wichita.
