LAWRENCE – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Bowling resumed its season this weekend in the NAIA West Open 1 and 2 at Royal Crest Lanes.
The Coyotes would win both tournaments to claim the overall NAIA West Open title.
On Saturday, teams played five team games. The Coyotes went 5-0 in the head-to-head matches while recording a total of 5026 pins. Culver-Stockton also went 5-0 in head-to-head matches and was second with 4928 pins. William Penn was third, Hastings was fourth and Avila was fifth to round out the Top Five teams.
Landon Bauer paced the KWU finishers on Saturday with a ninth place finish with 1048 pins over five games.
Max Howerton was 11th with 1038 pins in five games.
Conner Kirby was 33rd with 996 pins in five games,
Evan Clark was 35th with 989 pins in five games,
Kayden Moline was 120th with 562 pins in three games and
Bailey Gassman was 133rd with 393 pins in two games.
KWU also had a developmental team play in the tournament. The developmental team went 5-5 in its head-to-head matches to finish fifth in the developmental standings, and finished sixth in pin total with 8722.
In Saturday's team games, the developmental team was paced by
Dawson Baumgartner in 45th with 962 pins in five games.
Dylan Williams was 50th with 934 pins in five games,
Kevin Eghbali was 88th with 777 in four games,
Jesse Owens was 92nd with 761 in four games,
Dugan Trempe was 110th with 691 in four games,
Caleb McNett was 149th with 288 in two games and
William McNeil was 156th with one game with a score of 149.
The Coyotes will next compete in the KCAC Championships on February 21 and 22 back in Lawrence and Topeka, hosted by Ottawa University. The Coyotes will look to defend their 2025 KCAC Championship in Men's Bowling.
