TOPEKA – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Bowling posted a 10th place finish on the varsity side in the Jayhawk Challenge hosted by Baker University at Gage Bowl. KWU's Developmental team posted a 12th place finish in the developmental standings.
In the individual games,
Jackson Penny led the way for the varsity finishers with a 26th place finish with 979 pins.
Conner Kirby was 27th with 973 pins,
Landon Bauer was 40th with 925,
Max Howerton was 71st with 841 pins, Conner Thomas was 116th with 681 in four games, and
Landon Jones was 177th with 190 in one game.
KWU had a total of 4589 pins for the five individual games, and finished in 10th after the 16 baker games with a total of 7205 pins, just missing bracket play.
Wichita State took the No. 1 seed in the bracket play, Newman was second, Lindenwood third, Ottawa fourth and Missouri Valley fifth to round out to the top five teams.
On the developmental side, KWU finished 12th out of the 15 developmental teams at the event.
Kevin Eghbali was 56th to lead the developmental finishers with 889 pins,
Tyler Fink was 79th with 794,
Kayden Moline was 80th with 786,
Jesse Owens was 100th with 731, and
William McNeil was 114th with 689.
Wichita State's developmental teams were the top two seeds, followed by Newman and Lindenwood to round out the top four teams.
The Coyotes are back in action this weekend, heading to the Hastings Bronco Open in Hastings, Nebraska.
