FREMONT, Neb. – The Kansas Wesleyan Flag Football team definitely has the come from behind thing figured out. For the second straight game, the Coyotes rallied from a deficit for a win, this time scoring 18 unanswered points to beat Midland 18-14 on Wednesday night at Heedum Field.

The victory boosts the Coyotes' record to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the KCAC.

Midland took the opening drive the distance, covering 66 yards in 11 plays, and converting the extra point to lead 7-0 with 6:04 left in the first.

Wesleyan's ensuing drive stalled and Midland took over again this time scoring with 9:48 to go in the second quarter.

Wesleyan's next drive stalled at the Midland 29, but the Coyote defense stepped up and kept Midland out of the end zone.

Wesleyan got on the board finally in the third with 6:35 left with Chihiro Iwata hit Ciaran DeCuir on a nine-yard pass, but KWU's 2-point try would fail making it 14-6.

The Coyotes got another score in the fourth when Iwata ran it in from two yards out, but again KWU went for 2 on the PAT and failed.

The Coyote defense stepped up again, getting Midland to turn it over, and then completed the scoring drive with 35 seconds left as Iwata hit Angel Roman with a 5-yard pass to put the Coyotes up 18-14.

Midland tried to counter, throwing the ball deep several times, but could not connect and the Coyotes came away with the win.
