SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The long trip for the Kansas Wesleyan Men's Tennis team ended with a positive result on Saturday as the Coyotes defeated the Evangel Valor 5-2.
The Coyotes got wins in all three doubles flights to win the doubles point, and won four of the six singles flights.
Bryce Ware and
Alex Sherer teams up to beat Vinicius Coste and Emilio Chavarria 6-0;
Raul Davalos-Gavino and
Jacob Phelps beat Gabriel Leal and James McIlwraith 6-1; and
Adam Hanson and
Luke Craft beat Tomas Villamil and Tiago Galoppo 7-5.
In singles, it was No. 10 ranked
Bryce Ware beating Costa 6-0, 6-1; Sherer beat Leal 6-3, 6-3; Davalos-Gavino beat Chavarria 6-2, 6-2; and Phelps beat McIlwraith 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. Evangel got singles wins as Galoppo beat Hanson 6-4, 6-3; and Ilija Martinovic beat Craft 6-2, 6-0.
The Coyotes turn it around quickly again, back in action on Monday heading to Bethel to make up a postponed match from last week. KWU then plays in Lindsborg on Thursday and is back at home to take on Southwestern next Saturday.
