WICHITA – It's been a while, but the Kansas Wesleyan Competitive Dance team is back on top of the Kansas Conference.
The Coyotes claimed their first KCAC Championship since 2014-15 on Friday night in the KCAC Competitive Dance Championships at Friends University.
KWU claimed the title with a score of 79.60 besting York University who finished second with a score of 71.13. Saint Mary finished third with a score of 69.97, Ottawa was fourth with a score of 55.97, McPherson was fifth with a score of 41.27, Friends was sixth with a score of 38.40 and Bethel was seventh with a score of 37.70.
KWU also had five student-athletes selected to the All-KCAC teams.
Ava Crotty was an honorable mention selection,
Madelene McVey and three were named to the first-team, the only three first-team selections by the conference coaches. Earning first-team spots were
Tru Haesemeyer,
Kiran Bailey and
Kyla McLaughlin.
