Bryce Ware finished a perfect 10-0 run through the KCAC season with a singles victory in Kansas Wesleyan's final match of the regular season on Saturday.
The Coyotes would drop the match to the Ottawa Braves 6-1 at Salina Central High School.
Ware posted wins over nationally ranked opponents in McPherson's Michael Beltran and Bethel's Milan Bucek during his unbeaten run through the KCAC.
Wesleyan finished the regular season 12-7 overall and 7-4 in the KCAC and will be the No. 5 seed in next week's KCAC tournament and will head to No. 4 seed Sterling in the first round of the tournament.
Ware earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jarmo Perez Wienese of Ottawa at No. 1 singles for Wesleyan's lone point of the match.
He also teamed up with
Alex Sherer in doubles to beat Perez Wienese and Jhoel Quinonez 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, despite Ottawa winning the doubles point.
Ware and Sherer went 9-1 through the KCAC in doubles play, the lone loss coming against McPherson.
In the other doubles matches Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russell beat
Raul Davalos-Gavino and
Jacob Phelps 6-2; and Bernardo Figueriredo and Santiago Tartaglia beat
Adam Hanson and
Luke Craft 6-2.
In the other singles matches, Sherer dropped a 3-setter to Quinonez 5-7, 6-2, 6-2; Tartaglia beat Davalos-Gavino 6-0, 6-3; Giorgio beat Hanson 6-3, 6-0; Almog Cohen beat Craft in a 3-setter 5-7, 6-2, 10-3; and Russell beat
Brandon Sherman 6-0, 6-1.
