LINDSBORG – Kansas Wesleyan dropped a tough 4-3 decision to the Bethany Swedes on Thursday evening.
The Coyotes got things started off on the right foot winning the doubles point as KWU took two of the three doubles matches, barely dropping the third in a tiebreak.
Kristi Henderson and
McKinnley Evans beat Ana Sofia Castillo Paz and Maria Mistereck 6-4, and
Alivia Sherer and
Camrynn Bagwell beat Piper Marquez and Tia Gregory 6-2.
Eliza Camp and
Danielle Slack lost to Kyla Metro and Karee Adam 7-6 in a 7-3 tiebreak.
In singles, Bethany won four of the six flights to win the match.
KWU got wins as Evans beat Metro 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 and Slack beat Makenna Russom 6-1, 6-4.
In the other singles matches Castillo Paz beat
Michaela Crowe 6-2, 6-3; Mistereck beat Henderson 6-4, 6-3; Marquez beat Sherer 7-5, 6-4; and Gregory beat Camp 6-4, 7-5.
KWU plays Southwestern on Monday in Salina at 3 p.m.
