BELTON, Mo. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Bowling opened the 2025 portion of the schedule over the weekend at the Avila Eagle Invitational tournaments.
Saturday's first tournament consisted of five individual games to determine the winner. Sunday's second tournament consisted of 25 baker games.
The KWU varsity squad finished fourth out of the 14 varsity teams competing on Saturday with a total of 4964 pins. The KWU developmental team finished seventh out of the eight developmental teams competing with 4100 pins.
Conner Kirby led the KWU varsity finishers with an 11
th place overall finish with 1050 pins in five games. Conner Thomas tied with Kirby with the same score in five games.
Landon Jones was 13
th with 1042 pins in five games.
Jackson Penny was 22
nd with 1011 pins in five games,
Max Howerton was 99
th with 668 in four games, and
Kayden Moline rolled one game finishing with 143 pins. *
Jesse Owens led the developmental team finishers in 70
th place with a total of 860 pins in five games.
Kevin Eghbali was 76
th with 836 pins in five games,
Jordan Trammell was 80
th with 807,
Tyler Fink was 81
st with 805,
William McNeil was 83
rd with 792 in five games. *
On Sunday in the second tournament, the Coyotes placed seventh out of the 14
th varsity teams competing after the 25 baker games. KWU finished with 4489 pins, just edging NCAA Division II Southern Nazarene University. The KWU developmental team was eighth out of the eight competing developmental teams with 3256 pins.
Next up for the Coyotes is the NAIA West Regionals, hosted by Baker University on Saturday and Sunday in Lawrence and Topeka. The event was formerly known as the Baker Wildcat Challenge. It is not a NAIA postseason qualifying event.
