WICHITA, Kan. — Kansas Wesleyan's
Tristyn Hedman has been named as the KCAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the KCAC conference office. Vivianna Sanchez of Evangel University, Roxanna Varela Parra of No. 9 McPherson College earned this week's KCAC Women's Volleyball Attacker and Setter of the Week honors, respectively. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Oct. 6-12 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by
Equity Bank.
Defender of the Week
Tristyn Hedman - Kansas Wesleyan University

Hedman has settled into her role as the libero for the Coyotes. This week, she had a great week, averaging 6.83 digs per set. Her big match came against Ottawa, as she had a career-high 29 digs and averaged almost 10 per set in helping KWU beat the Braves.

Attacker of the Week
Vivianna Sanchez - Evangel University

Sanchez had a strong week as Evangel earned their 15th and 16th consecutive wins of the season, sweeping both Ottawa and York. Vivianna recorded 26 total kills, swinging .548 with just three attacking errors. Sanchez also recorded 14 total blocks, averaging 2.33 per set to help increase her season total to 153 (1.76 per set). This marks the sixth time Sanchez has earned a KCAC Women's Volleyball weekly honor this season, but the first time it has been the Attacker of the Week honor (has earned five Defender of the Week honors so far this season).

Parra averaged 14.50 assists per set this past week, totaling 58 assists and eight digs on the floor, as the Bulldogs defeated No. 5 Oklahoma Wesleyan 3-1. This is the second consecutive week in which Parra has been named the KCAC Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week, and marks the third time overall this season she has earned the honor.
