NORTH NEWTON – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis wrapped up its fall season over the weekend at the KCAC Invitational, hosted by Bethel College.
 
Hayden Bellamy earned second place in the A Draw. She opened with an 8-0 win over Rowen Wiemers of Saint Mary, then beat Camila Lopez of Bethel 8-4. In the semifinal round she beat Monserrat Guerrero of Saint Mary 8-4, but lost in Danna Arroyo of Sterling in the A Draw championship match.
 
Corina Salas took third place in the A Draw. She opened with an 8-0 win over Greta Fankhauser of Sterling, then beat Jireh Gonzalez of Bethel 8-6. She lost in the semifinals to Arroyo of Sterling 8-2, but bounced back in the third place match to beat Guerrero of Saint Mary 8-6.
 
Rylee Frye claimed the consolation bracket championship in the A Draw. She started with a 9-8 (7-4 tiebreaker) loss to Charis Yager of Bethel. After that it was three wins as she beat Karee Adam of Bethany 8-1, Fankhauser of Sterling 8-0 and then beat teammate 
Alivia Sherer 8-4 in the consolation final.
 
Sherer was the consolation bracket runner-up. She started with a loss to Guerrero of Saint Mary 8-2, then beat Avila's Lily Hopson 8-5 and Bethany's Helen Harbit 8-4 before dropping the consolation final to her teammate Frye 8-4.
 
In the B Draw, 
Ania Bonner earned fourth place. She opened with a win over Seydi Clemente of Saint Mary 8-4, then lost to Elena Jundt of Bethany 8-3, and Elise Richardson of Bethany 8-1.
 
Isabella Myers was in the B Draw and went 1-1. She beat Olivia Glissen of Evangel 8-4, then lost to Richardson of Bethany 8-4.
 
Lauren Higgins was in the C Draw and went 2-1, earning third place. She started with a win against Emily Martin of Bethany 8-5,  then lost to Kayla Babcock of Bethel 8-2 before coming back for a win over Meredith Denton of Bethany 8-5.
 
KWU will start its spring season in early February.
