HAYS, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis played a dual with NCAA Division II Fort Hays State on Thursday in Hays at the FHSU Tennis Courts. The Tigers would come away with a 6-1 win over the Coyotes.
Hayden Bellamy got the lone win for the Coyotes at No. 1 singles as she beat Yone Pereiro in a super tiebreak set. Bellamy won the first set 6-4, Pereiro won the second set 6-2, and in the tiebreaker Bellamy got a 10-8 win.
In the other singles flights,
Corina Salas beat Molly Gaddis 6-0, 4-6, 10-6 in another super tiebreak. Bethan Gill beat
Rylee Frye 6-0, 6-0; Ines Torres beat
Alivia Sherer 6-3, 6-2; Janae Montoya beat
Hailey Adami 6-1, 7-5; and Ines Steeman beat
Ania Bonner 6-2, 6-2.
FHSU swept the doubles flights to win the doubles point. Gaddis and Gill beat Bellamy and Frye 6-1; Latorre and Pereiro beat Salas and Adami 6-2; and Montoya and Steeman beat Sherer and Myers 6-2.
KWU wraps up the fall season on October 11 with the KCAC Invitational hosted by Bethel College in North Newton.
