LAWRENCE – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis opened its 2025 spring season with a 5-2 win over Baker University Wildcats on Sunday at Genesis South.
The Coyotes picked up the doubles point winning the two contested matches as
Kristi Henderson and
McKinnley Evans beat Dayna Steadman and Abbie Linn 6-2; and
Danielle Slack and
Hayden Bellamy beat Clarice Langfoss and Jordan Grabast 6-1.
In the four contested singles flights, the teams split evenly 2-2. KWU got wins as
Eliza Camp beaat Langfoss 6-2, 6-0; and Slack beat Grabast 6-1, 6-1. Baker got wins as Steadman beat Bellamy 6-1, 6-7, 10-2; and Linn beat Evans 6-1, 0-6, 10-4.
Camp and
Alivia Sherer got a default win in doubles.
Ania Bonner and
Lauren Higgins got default wins in singles.
The Coyotes are scheduled to be back in action on Friday, February 28, hosting Midland University.
