THE SERIES 

  • The Coyotes have won nine in a row against York including a 100-61 victory on December 11 inside Mabee Arena eariler  this season. York had won 11 of 13 before KWU's recent run. The series is tied 12-12 since 2009
  • KWU has won the last eight and 13 of 15 against Tabor. The Coyotes routed the Bluejays 94-66 on January 3 in Mabee Arena and lead the series 22-19 since 2006.


KANSAS WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE

  • It's been a frustrating stretch for the Coyotes who have lost their last three games and six of their last eight, all by three points or less. They fell to Sterling 69-66 last Wednesday in Sterling, to Saint Mary 77-76 on Saturday inside Mabee Arena and to Friends 82-80 January 25 in Mabee.
  • Alex Littlejohn continued his season-long tear with 25 points and 11 rebounds against Sterling and had 23 points against Saint Mary. He was the only Coyote in double figure against Sterling. Freshman Carson Jones scored 21 and Izaiah Hale 11 against USM.
  • Jones scored 22, Littlejohn 20, and Hunter Bowman and Aiden Leckband had 14 each in the first victory over York. KWU outscored the Panthers 60-29 in the second half and shot 55.7 percent overall. Littlejohn scored 19, Bowman 18 and Landon Wagler 11 in the first contest with Tabor. The Coyotes shot 58.7 percent for the game.
 

YORK AT A GLANCE

  • The Panthers have lost nine of their last 11 games but are coming off a 66-65 upset of Southwestern on Saturday in York. It was their second victory in the last four games after seven consecutive losses. Rhino Hernandez's tip-in with 13 seconds left was the difference.
  • Guard Chris Dixon leads the team in scoring (16.4) with Thorpe Jr. (13.5) and Bennett (11.4) next. Thorpe scored 20 and Bennett 18 in the first game against KWU. Thorpe also averages 8.4 rebounds and Bennett 6.8.
  • Head coach Tree Burks has announced departure at the end of the season. He has been head coach the last nine years and with the program for 13 seasons.


TABOR AT A GLANCE

  • The Bluejays have lost their last nine games and 13 of the last 14. They fell to Sterling 94-71 on Saturday in Hillsboro and to McPherson 99-60 last Wednesday in McPherson.
  • Senior guard Kalep Crane has been the bright spot averaging 20.5 points and shooting 43 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. He's the only Bluejay with a double-figure scoring average.
  • Crane scored 22 and Zach Hiebert had 14 in the first game against KWU. Tabor trailed 48-29 at halftime and shot 34.7 percent for the game.
