Kansas Wesleyan University Softball continued KCAC play as they hosted Oklahoma Wesleyan University in a doubleheader on Saturday at Salina South High School.

The Coyotes ended up dropping both games after battling till the end in game one and keeping things close in first half of the second. The Eagles would claim game one at 10-9, and game two 6-1.Â

Game one was a battle to the bitter end. KWU started
Caitlyn Collier in the circle where she would stay for the entirety for the game. After giving up three runs through three innings, KWU responded in the bottom of the third and railed to bring home five runs and claim the lead. OKWU did not blink and responded with six runs in the top of the fourth to take back the lead at 9-7.

OKWU went to the bullpen after the five run rally and switched from Lovelle to Simpson on the pitching rubber. KWU could not find a timely hit in the bottom of the 7th after giving up two runs and lead in the top of 7th and emend up dropping game one 10-9.Â

In game two the Coyotes sent
Bella Allen to the circle to start game two. Neither team could find a run until the top of the 4th where OKWU found two runs off some Coyotes errors. Another scoreless inning for KWU gave the Eagles a chance to build to lead, which they did.

The Coyotes were able to get one run in the bottom of the 5th of off an RBI by
Elli Han to score
Briannah Kutschkau from second. This would be the Coyotes' single run of the game as they dropped game two 6-1.Â

The Coyotes fall to 500. At 11-11 overall and 2-2 in conference play.Â

KWU will continue conference play on Wednesday as they head to Wichita to face the Friends University Falcons at 3:00PM.
