CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. - Kansas Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball headed north this weekend to face the Mount Mercy Mustangs in a Heart of America Conference game. The Coyotes fell to three set against the Mustangs 25-20, 25-16, 25-12.
Set one was story of mini runs. With MMU getting 3 points, then KWU answering right back with their string of 3 points. Towards the end, the Coyotes could not hold off the Mustangs and stalled out at 20 to loose set one 25-20.
Set two saw KWU struggle to get the offense going. MMU however was able to collect 15 kills compared to KWU's 3. The Mustangs claimed set two 25-16.
Kansas Wesleyan continued to battle in set three but just could not get enough things to going to even the odds. Nonetheless the Coyotes dropped set three 25-12.
Ryan Wagner led the Coyotes with 7 kills and Ethan Rickets had a great day providing 16 assists.
The Coyotes fall to 7-12 overall and 3-9 in Heart play.
KWU will continue Heart play as they return home on Tuesday night to host the Grand View University Vikings. Game time is 7:00 PM and will be at Mabee Arena.
