LEAVENWORTH – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Outdoor Track opened its season on Friday night at the Spire Challenge as the distance runners competed at the event.
Kierra Jensen finished second in the 5000m in the 37 runner field, with a time of 18:32.79.
Micah Dickens was fifth in 18:42.94,
Charlee Lind was eighth in 18:45.93,
Alayna Behrman was 10
th in 18:51.06, and
Mya Schweitzer was 21
st in 19:52.41.
Madisyn Ehrlich led the Coyote finishers in the 1500m field with a third place finish with a time of 4:46.65. The field included 54 runners and took four heats to complete.
Josie Koppes finished 13
th with a time of 4:57.68,
Makayla Little was 26
th in 5:10.04, and
Joni Schroeder was 27
th in 5:12.79.
Allyson Taylor finished third in the Steeplechase with a time of 13:38.96.
In the 800m,
Hailey Nordhus finished fourth with a time of 2:24.59,
Emma McAlister was 13
th with a time of 2:37.45, and
Ava Kenyon was 14
th with a time of 2:37.51.
The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday with the field events and sprints group heading to North Newton for the Bethel Invitational at Thresher Stadium.
