CRETE, Neb. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis played its second match in as many days as the Coyotes faced the Doane University Tigers on Tuesday. Doane would get the win 6-1.
In doubles, KWU would get one victory, but Doane earned the point winning the other two matches.
Hayden Bellamy and
Danielle Slack defeated Liz Calderon and Grace Schroller 6-2 for the KWU win. In the other matches, Mariana Espinosa and Maria Purizaca beat
Kristi Henderson and
McKinnley Evans 6-1; and Kat Johnson and Isabella Castillero beat
Isabella Gutierrez-Myers and
Ania Bonner 6-3.
Eliza Camp earned Wesleyan's lone point in the match winning her No. 5 flight match up over Schroller 6-1, 7-5.
In the other singles matches Purizaca beat Bellamy 6-2, 6-2; Espinosa beat Evans 6-2, 6-1; Calderon beat Henderson 6-0, 6-1; Castillero beat Slack 6-1, 6-2; and Johnson beat
Kira McGrown 6-4, 6-1.
KWU hosts Bethel on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Salina Tennis Alliance Center.
