EMPORIA – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Outdoor Track was back in action in the Emporia State Relays on Friday and Saturday at Zola Witten Track at Francis G. Welch Stadium at Emporia State University.
The Coyotes had plenty of solid performances again this week facing big fields in many events that included athletes from NCAA Division I and Division II schools and top NJCAA schools.
Maddy Wolf joined teammate
Mayce Russell at the top of the NAIA performance list in the javelin, with a throw of 43.97m finishing fourth and hitting the NAIA A-Standard. Russell was 10th with a mark of 40.33m and
Aunisty McNeal was 21st with a mark of 32.06m.
The Coyotes had a big contingency in the 1500m with nine athletes in the event.
Madisyn Ehrlich led the way finishing fourth with a time of 4:56.39,
Hailey Nordhus was fifth in 4:59.86 with a new personal best,
Charlee Lind was 14th with a new personal best time of 5:09.31,
Mya Schweitzer was 16th in 5:10.15,
Makayla Little was 17th in 5:10.43,
Alayna Behrman was 19th in 5:11.45,
Micah Dickens was 23rd in 5:16.82,
Emma McAlister was 26th in 5:21.01 and
Allyson Taylor was 41st in 5:45.33.
Josie Koppes was fourth in the 5000m with a time of 18:58.45.
Kierra Jensen was fifth in the Steeplechase with a time of 12:06.74.
In the discus, Chloe Grusing tossed a new personal best of 39.99m to finish eighth, while
Aunisty McNeal was 22nd with a mark of 34.15m,
Elizabeth Stout was 33rd with a mark of 29.05m and Roselyn Torres was 38th with a mark of 24.43m.
The 4x100m relay team of
Markyla Shaw,
Julie Rottinghaus,
Lauryn Mikkelson and
Brionna Floyd was 12th with a time of 49.91 seconds.
Julie Rottinghaus was 13th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.25m and
Dahn Hanlon was 14th with a mark of 9.70m.
In the 800m,
Madisyn Ehrlich was 14th with a time of 2:27.98, while
Makayla Little set a new personal best with a time of 2:30.72, placing 19th.
Lauryn Mikkelson was 14th in the 400m hurdles in 1:11.82.
Chloe Grusing placed 16th in the shot put with a mark of 11.15m,
Elizabeth Stout was 18th with a mark of 10.80m and
Aunisty McNeal was 20th with a mark of 10.00m.
Markyla Shaw was 18th in the long jump with a mark of 4.79m,
Dahn Hanlon was 28th with a mark of 4.19m.
Brionna Floyd was 21st in the 400m with a time of 61.01 seconds and
Ava Kenyon was 34th in 64.68.
In the hammer throw,
Elizabeth Stout was 23rd with a mark of 37.08m, and Roselyn Torres was 38th with a mark of 24.86m.
Julie Rottinghaus finished 35th in the 100m with a time of 12.80 seconds.
In the 200m,
Brionna Floyd was 36th with a time of 26.34 seconds,
Julie Rottinghaus was 41st in 26.62 seconds,
Markyla Shaw was 55th in 27.17 and
Lauryn Mikkelson was 62nd in 27.41. Shaw and Mikkelson both ran personal bests in the event.
The Coyotes are back in action this weekend at the Friends University Spring Open on Friday and Saturday at Adair-Austin Stadium in Wichita.
