WICHITA – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis picked up a key conference win 5-2 over the Friends University Falcons on Saturday at Riverside Tennis Center.
In doubles, the Coyotes would win the doubles point winning two of the three matches.
McKinnley Evans and
Kristi Henderson beat Carlotta Klee and Silva Avakian 6-3; and
Alivia Sherer and
Eliza Camp beat Alana Ewertt and Victoria Hoffman 6-2. Friends would get one win as Aneth Diaz and Molly Bender beat
Hayden Bellamy and
Danielle Slack 6-3.
In singles, KWU won four of the six matches. Evans beat Ewertt 6-2, 6-2; Slack beat Bender 6-3, 7-5; Camp beat Hoffman 6-0, 6-2; and
Ania Bonner won by default. Friends won two matches as Avakian beat Bellamy 6-3, 3-6, 10-8; and Diaz beat Sherer 6-1, 6-0.
The Coyotes are back in action on Monday taking on Sterling College in a Kansas Conference match-up at 3 p.m. at Salina Tennis Alliance Center.
