WICHITA, Kan. — Ritter Steinmann and
Carter Allen, both of Kansas Wesleyan University, have earned the KCAC Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from April 7-13 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by
Equity Bank.
Pitcher of the Week
Ritter Steinmann - Kansas Wesleyan University
Sr. | RHP | Oroville, Calif.
Steihmann pitched in three games of four played this week, including two appearances in the Tabor series. He tossed an inning, striking out two in the win over Sterling on Tuesday. Then, in the weekend series, he went two and a third innings only allowing two hits and striking out three, earning the save in the 11-8 win over Tabor. He then toed the rubber again on Sunday going three and a third helping hold Tabor's high powered offense at bay allowing just one run on three hits with three strikeouts as KWU completed a key series sweep over the Bluejays. The victories keep KWU tied with Oklahoma Wesleyan for the top spot in the KCAC.

Player of the Week
Carter Allen - Kansas Wesleyan University
Jr. | INF | Pearland, Texas
Allen had an outstanding week for the Coyotes, hitting .653 with a 1.125 SLG and a 1.775 OPS. He single-handedly led the Coyotes to the 17-9 win over Tabor, homering three times, and nearly completed the "home run cycle" just needing a 3-run homer for the feat. All three hits were homers and he drove in seven runs while also walking twice. He opened the Tabor series going 3 for 4 and driving in two runs as KWU won 11-8. He added two more hits and a RBI in the series finale with Tabor. His play helped lead KWU to the series sweep of Tabor and remain in a tie for first place in the KCAC.
