OTTAWA – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis fell to the Ottawa Braves 4-3 on Friday at Forest Park.
The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but forecast inclement weather forced to movement to Friday,
KWU started off winning the doubles point. KWU and Ottawa split the two contested matches, while also picking up a default win by
Alivia Sherer and
Eliza Camp.
Hayden Bellamy and
Danielle Slack beat Alejandra Parra and Camryn Medina 6-2.
Kristi Henderson and
McKinnley Evans lost to Paula Persson and Valeria Rodriguez 6-4.
Ottawa won all four contested singles matches. KWU got default wins by Henderson and
Ania Bonner. Rodriguez beat Bellamy 6-2, 6-4; Persson beat Evans 6-2, 6-3; Parra beat Sherer 6-1, 6-2; and Medina beat Camp 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
KWU now awaits the announcement of the KCAC Women's Tennis Tournament field and bracket.
