Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis fell to the University of Saint Mary Spires 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Salina Tennis Alliance Center.
The Coyotes would drop the doubles point as Saint Mary claimed two of the three matches. Wesleyan's only win came at No. 2 flight as
Hayden Bellamy and
Danielle Slack beat Shannon Finn and Mia Rojas 6-4. Saint Mary got wins as Rowen Wiemers and Tracy Llamas beat
Kristi Henderson and
McKinnley Evans 6-3; and Courtney Standley and Monserrat Guerrero Chapula beat
Kaitlyn Wrye and Mira McGrown 6-2.
In singles, the Coyotes got two wins as Evans beat Rojas 6-3, 6-1; and
Eliza Camp beat Standley 3-6, 6-3, 10-7. USM would get wins in the other four flights as Llamas beat Bellamy 6-1, 6-4; Finn beat Sherer 6-1, 6-3; Guerrero Chapula beat Henderson 6-4, 6-0; and Wiemers beat Slack on a retirement.
The busy season continues for the Coyotes on Monday as KWU heads to Winfield to take on Southwestern College Moundbuilders in the first of three road matches this week. KWU heads to Tabor on Wednesday and Friends on Saturday.
